Since the late 1980’s we have had a vision to provide a complete Wedding service. From the flowers & ceremony, to the food, and reception, our vision was to create the perfect day for the Bridal couple.

In 1991, we purchased the business now known as Prather’s Flowers and Gifts. We were soon in the business of working with Bridal couples, and their dreams of what their wedding day would become, and how we could help make these dreams a reality. Decorating sanctuaries, reception halls, designing bouquets, to pinning on corsages became our passion and forte’. We wanted more, this was still not what we had envisioned.

Remodeling the vacated old church building on the square in Troy, was our chance to create the perfect and romantic setting for Weddings. Carrying out the dreams of the Bride and staying within her budget was, and still is , the goal of The Court Square Wedding Chapel.

We soon discovered that we needed an appropriate area to prepare food items, from hors d’oeuvres to Rehearsal Dinners.

We owned an old house next door to our Flower Shop, and used it mainly for storage. It was crude, and had no electricity, plumbing or heat & a/c. Our vision and imaginations went to work, along with a lot of hammering, and sawing, we created the place now known as The White House Restaurant. We were now able to prepare and serve the food in a special place, as well as cater those events in other locations. However… this is not the end of the story, but the beginning of a whole new division of our company.

We had felt the need for a larger, more modern Reception Facility and in April 2003, we opened our new 8,000 sq.ft. banquet and reception facility- The Moffatt Centre, located next door to the Wedding Chapel. The décor throughout richly reflects the traditions of the Southern Banquet Hall as we know them.

In the fall of 2006, we had the opportunity to assume the Operations and Management of The Hampton Centre in Union City, TN. (The Banquet Facility at The Hampton Inn). At this same time we began plans to build a new 6000 sq. ft. Restaurant adjacent to The Hampton.

On January 1st, 2007 we assumed all the activities at The Hampton Centre, and in March, 2007, construction began on Sassafraz, with completion and opening scheduled for October 1st.

This is our largest endeavor to date, and will require a considerable staff increase. We opened Sassafraz in October 2007.
